'Water & Power' flows to screen

5 years after "Water & Energy" bowed on stage in La, Richard Montoya, from the comedy troupe Culture Clash, is creating a movie version from the play.Montoya is writing, pointing and creating the drama that stars Jacob Vargas, Enrique Murciano, Nicholas Gonzalez and Clancy Brown in regards to a California senator who must help his crooked cop of the brother from a criminal offense which has backfired on L.A.'s eastside.Murciano plays the politician, nicknamed Water, while Gonzalez may be the cop, Energy. Both received the nicknames by their father (Vargas), an worker for that city's Department water and Energy.Film, whose locations cover South Central and East La, is dependant on happens play of the identical title that Montoya composed and first showed in 2006 in the Mark Taper Forum, in L.A.The pic was modified included in the Sundance Feature Film Lab in 2007.
